Upgrade your gas heating system with a new gas boiler
As the cold winter approaches the nights get longer and the coldness creeps in, so we must all be prepared, and the best way to do this is via a gas central heating system. There’s nothing cosier than a warm room while a blizzard rages outside, and this warmth is best provided by a sturdy and efficient central heating system.
A gas central heating system is basically a boiler with pipes carrying the heat to heating radiators placed in all the rooms; these systems can be of the pumped or vented type.
Pumped systems are probably the more common ones and their main part is a feed expansion tank which acts as the centre core by heating up itself first to subsequently warm up the heaters via the pipe work. Provision is made for water to be filled in the expansion tank tank as well as for expansion of the heated water.
The vented system on the other hand is a sealed system where there is no core heating. It’s basically closed, so there is really no need for any water tanks and the space they require. It works well in colder countries like Norther Europe because the pipes are less likely to freeze up in this system, in addition to that there are less chances of leaking and there are no airlocks too.
Tell me why I should get gas central heating?.
The primary benefit of central heating is that the entire home or office is warmed up rapidly, and that too, without adversely affecting the air around you. Electric fires, gas and storage heaters were the types used in the old days. However, these older heating methods make the air sticky and hard, and can also emit an unpleasant smell.
With central heating systems, these problems are not encountered, but your central heating system will require regular maintenance. Many home owners turn them on immediately at the arrival of cold weather after leaving them off during the summer season, which is not the proper thing to do. Try to switch on your heating system during autumn so that if there is any defect, it can be fixed well before winters approach and fixed at a time when the plumbers are less busy.
You should also keep in mind that most households gas central heating systems can let air or dirt into it, therefore they need yearly draining. The best way to do this is to place a bucket underneath the drain valve and slowly open it to release the water, but just make sure that no more air or dirt is making its way in.
