Do not postpone, get a gas heating system this winter
As the cold winter approaches the nights get longer and the coldness creeps in, so we must all be prepared, and the best way to do this is via a gas central heating system. And for keeping your home cosy and warm, you need a good, safe and reliable central heating system, not one that breaks down when the first ice appears.
Most heating systems compromise of a gas boiler; central heating radiator and pipework, there are basically two different sorts of gas central heating systems, one being a pumped system and the other being a vented system.
The most common out of these is probably the pumped system, these consist of a feed and expansion tank, the hot water tank works as the centre storage, and then heats the central heating radiators via the pipes. The expansion tank does allow for any water expansion that may occur.
There is also what is known as a sealed system in which no centre core is used to heat the radiators. This system is essentially self-providing and therefore does not require any water tanks. It works well in colder countries like Norther Europe because the pipes are less likely to freeze up in this system, in addition to that there are less risks of leaking and there are no airlocks too.
Do I really need a gas central heating system to heat my home?.
The primary benefit of central heating is that the entire home or office is warmed up rapidly, and that too, without adversely affecting the air around you. Electric fires, gas and storage heaters were the types used in the old days. However, these were not ideal as they emitted an odour and affected the condition of the air, drying it out.
Such problems never occur with gas central heating but they require regular maintenance to ensure their peak performance. In many households, these systems are not used during the summer, but as soon as the winters set in, they are intensely used; this should not be done. Instead, you should start using the gas central heating system during the autumn season so that if any problem comes to the fore, you can call the engineer and get it rectified before the winter.
Furthermore, some of these systems also give admission to air and dirt; therefore emptying is a necessity, which should be done regularly with an annual service schedule. The best way to do this is to place a bucket underneath the drain valve and slowly open it to release the water, but just make sure that no more air or dirt is making its way in.
